Film Making Project.

Today we went over the brief for the first film making project.

The scenario is based on a shoe being lost after a woman on a lunch break decides to take a nap on a park bench.

Our task was to suggest characters and suspects that would be filmed in an interview style by a policeman regarding the missing shoe and their whereabouts during the incident.

My initial idea was a comedic route recreating the fun and childish charm of interviewing an animal and placing them in a higher regard than normal.

This idea has been done before in a character in the comedy series 'Wilfred' on BBC3. I have seen a few episodes and was interested in the idea that the main character Ryan who is suicidal and is asked to look after the neighbours dog, 'Wilfred' who has blatant human features.
The intended aim is a light hearted series that is for early evening family entertainment on Channel 4.
Knowing that the audience will have a wide age range means that the comedy could both work for younger audiences and old alike.
Here is another example of simple clips with overdub that can produce hilarious results.

Bringing a different angle such as an animal leaves scope for inhuman emotions and responses to questions during the interview with possible pointless flashbacks to a particularly comfy bed, a large bone or tennis balls.
Another example would be to look at the film 'Up'. Meet 'Doug' ....
